ARC @ STONEX STADIUM

Aldeburgh Rugby Club special trip to watch Saracens v. London Irish

On Sunday 23rd April, Aldeburgh Rugby Club travelled down to the Saracens’ StoneX stadium to watch them play London Irish (45-21).

ARC was incredibly lucky to have been photographed by Eamonn McCabe at the beginning of the season, just before his unexpected and sad passing in October.

Eamonn started his career taking photographs of Saracens years ago and Aldeburgh VP and close personal friend of Eamonn’s, Derek Wyatt (ex-England international) thought it would be a fitting start-end career homage to get the two clubs together.

We were invited down to a very generous VIP treatment and Eamonn’s wife, Becky Smithers, was able to present Saracens with one of his photographs at half time.  There was also over four pages to celebrate his life and work in their programme.

Aldeburgh Club members also enjoyed meeting some more ex-international players, sadly missing out on England head coach Steve Borthwick.  We had an incredible day out as a club and look forward to making more memories for ourselves as a club going into the future.
